Saturday morning I woke up 2 hours later than I should’ve. I grudgingly walked around the corner to buy some coffee, then dillydally’d my way through breakfast and took a shower. I have this thing about going to events by myself. I’m lightweight terrified of it. While I’m a friendly person, it’s hard for me to make friends. I’m extremely shy and awkward, especially when I’m by myself. But that was the day bthe World Series trophy tour made a stop at my favorite bar in New York – Finnerty’s. I spent most of the 2012 post-season away from the city and people I love, and watched the World Series while there was a hurricane outside. Seeing the coveted trophy was the least I could do for missing out on champagne showers at Underdogs, high-fiving strangers on the Embarcadero, and losing my voice at the Giants parade. Thus, NOT going was NOT an option. Thankfully, I ran into an old friend, made some new ones, saw Larry Baer and Ashkon, and felt that much closer to home. If only I had done the Pagan salute in my picture *tsk tsk*. Next season 😉 #gallery-13639-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-13639-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-13639-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-13639-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
