Wifey 4 Lifey

Last month I planned a surprise, luau-themed bridal shower for everyone’s favorite day of the week and I loved how everything turned out. Hawaii is my mom’s absolute favorite destination, so there was no question that it was going to be island themed. Below is the dessert table/mimosa bar. Kid you not, my mom was THIS close to making her entrance song “Wifey” by Next. She’s always loved that track, so it was only right to have her banner say it. The banner was $6 and came with 8 pentagon-ish shapes per pack. Then, I added the letters and flowers using Coley’s Cricut, which let me tell you IS FUCKING AMAZING. You can’t see it in this photo, but the bar is an old table my cousin had in her garden. She cleaned it off and then stapled a grass table skirt around it to add the perfect tiki bar touch.

Found this pineapple serving tray for $12 at Marshalls. Didn’t know what exactly I was going to use it for, but I knew it would come in handy. The pineapple stir sticks (which are totally reusable) were only $3 for a pack of 6 at Target!

To keep with the tropical theme, I requested a naked mango cake and guava chiffon cupcakes from the good folks at Marley’s Treats and bought a dashboard hula girl on Amazon.

I cut corners where I could and used paper plates, but still think the table settings came out looking classy despite being paper and plastic lol. I wanted bright colors, but nothing too crazy or kiddy, so I used gold accents to make it more grown. I got the cutlery from Party City and the Dollar Tree. The burlap was from Joanne’s Frabric’s, and much cheaper than getting pre-made table cloths online.

I found the “placemats” on Amazon, along with rafia I used for the perimeter of the awning. The gold pails were $1 in the dollar section at Target ( I LIVE IN THIS SECTION), and I got the idea for drink umbrella topiaries on Pinterest.

To top it all off, my Aunt Shirley bought tiki torches (looked awesome at night) and my cousin Codi was kind enough to paint this sign for the party coincidentally matched the rest of the decor.

A huge thank you to the other bridesmaids, my family, and my mom’s friends for helping me put this event together. I can’t wait for her bachelorette party!
