From My Family To Yours.

Obviously, I care about what’s been going on in the Mother Land. There’s a joke about all Filipinos being related. While none of my known family was affected by Typhoon Haiyan, I’m sure somewhere down the line a distant relative of mine was. It’s hard to look at the destruction. How hard? I haven’t looked. I don’t need to look to know that they need help. I’m just not sure what’s the best way to go about doing so.

The Philippines, as beautiful as it is, can be a very corrupt place mostly due to a debauch government. I know this not because of what I see in the news or read on the internet. I know, because several of my family members having worked in politics can vouch for it. I’m not saying all of the Philippines is corrupt, I’m just saying to choose wisely before donating money. Try to do as much research as you can about the organization. Below is a list of organizations worth checking out. If you’re in the SF/Peninsula area, The Cutlery in Daly City is also accepting clothing and food donations until Saturday, Nov. 16th.
