Dear Universe – TBT Post 10.06.11

Rach is always talking about putting shit into the universe. Sometimes I think she says it just to be cute but she’s doing pretty well for herself right now, so I figured it was worth a shot.

Dear Universe,

I’m going to need you to make it stop. JUST. MAKE. IT STOP. The insanity. The madness. The feelings. The missing him at night, and the thinking of him first thing in the morning. Is that really too much to ask for?

For you to stop with these beautiful, Indian Summers. The kind that make me want to look like a girl, and wear a pretty dress, and leave my hair down, and wear open-toe shoes all so I can look beautiful for HIM. I could do without the rainy cuddle weather too while you’re at it. The kind that makes me want to wear just his T-shirt, and drink wine, and watch a Redbox movie under the covers with HIM.

Dear Universe, it’s imperative that you have lightening strike every single place we’ve went on a date to. Along with the scenic routes we took to get there. I’m sorry people of the world but you’re just going to have to do without amusement parks, and museums, miniature golf, three specific movie theaters, and almost every single club in Downtown SF and that one in the Marina. SORRY.

And how about you stop sending me signals … that aren’t really signals … but in the back of mind I hope are signals. Because it has to be more than a coincidence that I’m sitting in this restaurant we once ate at while the Giants are playing, and a guy with the same car as you parks right outside, while the radio is playing that one song that reminds us of each other. Riiiiiight? FUCK. I can’t wait for the day that a sign is just a sign that says “Stop,” “No parking anytime,” or “Loading zone only.” Not, “Maybe you should call him,” “You should be together” or “He misses you too.”

So pick a natural disaster of your choice, although a tornado will suffice. Send it to his house, but wait – don’t hurt him. Just send him away. Far, far away. Into the Milky Way, or better yet the Black Hole. Because I’m tired of giving people the world, and settling for less than the stars, when I know there’s so many other beautiful things in the universe.

Thanks.

Love,
Me
